Into Thin Air, Jon Krakauer

Into Thin Air is about the 1996 Mount Everest expedition. This first hand account of the tragedy of the expedition is gripping. Krakauer writes so you feel like you are in the cold mountain of Everest experiencing the adventure for yourself. I don't read many Non-Fiction books, but this one is incredible!

I agree this is one of Jim and my favorites and one that everyone should read.

We also both just finished another of Krakauer's books "Into the Wild". It was really good also. It is along the same lines, but the true story of a twenty something who just went into the wilderness and was found dead months later. It details all the events leading up to his strange disappearance.

"Into the Wild" was the first Krakauer book I read about 10 years ago. It still makes my head spin to think of everything this young man went through. It is an incredible book - very captivating. Has anyone seen the movie that they made of this book?

Wow, I'm going to have to check this one out! I'm usually more of a fiction reader, but I'd give this a try!
